CDA properties available for those who need it.

The CDA currently owns and manages 81 units of housing scattered throughout the county with Project-Based Voucher funding. To become a resident of the CDA’s project-based voucher program, all applicants must meet the eligibility requirements set forth by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This includes meeting program income guidelines, family composition, age and/or disability qualifications, providing solid references and passing a criminal history check. In addition, all applicants must provide proof of U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status.

Eligible families pay rent based on 30% of their adjusted gross income minus allowable deductions. A security deposit of $500 is due before occupancy. HUD has developed a formula for calculating rents called the Total Tenant Payment (TTP). This formula’s specifics will be discussed when you’re considered for tenancy. After 12 months of occupancy, you may be eligible to move with a Housing Choice Voucher.

Conveniently located in Chaska’s Jonathan Association, Waybury Apartments is a HUD-subsidized Section 8 property for adults age 62 and over as well as adults with a qualifying disability. There are one and two-bedroom apartments, including accessible units, with a large community room with a full kitchen and TV, a library, individual garages, decks/patios and a controlled access entry system. All are close to local shopping, dining and medical facilities.

Income limits apply and residents pay 30% of their adjusted gross income for rent, heat included.
