Carver County, MN — The Carver County Community Development Agency (CDA) Board of Commissioners has approved funding awards through the 2026 Community Growth Partnership Initiative (CGPI), investing in projects that strengthen local communities, expand the tax base, and enhance quality of life across the county.

Established in 2016, the CGPI program supports local initiatives through four key focus areas: affordable housing, community development, redevelopment, and technology assistance. For 2026, the CDA allocated $415,000 to the program to support projects led by Carver County cities and townships.

Following a competitive application process, the CDA Board approved funding for six projects totaling $320,875, representing investments in redevelopment, housing, and community enhancement efforts.

• City of Chanhassen — SourceLink Client Relationship Management (CRM) (Technology Assistance): $875
• City of Waconia — 801 Hwy 284 Small Area Plan (Pre-Development): $10,000
• City of Norwood Young America — Historic Downtown Beautification Project – Phase I Cultural Resource Review (Pre-Development): $10,000

• City of Norwood Young America — Norwood Flats (Community Development): $100,000
• City of Watertown — The Hive Haus (Community Development): $100,000

These projects reflect the CDA’s ongoing commitment to fostering strategic growth and supporting communities at various stages of development, from early planning and feasibility work to transformative redevelopment projects.

“This year’s awards demonstrate the strength of partnerships across Carver County and our shared commitment to thoughtful, sustainable growth,” said CDA Executive Director Allison Streich.  “By investing in these projects, we are helping communities create opportunities for residents, businesses, and future development.”
Communities throughout Carver County are eligible to apply annually for CGPI funding, with grants supporting pre-development activities, technology improvements, and community development initiatives that align with program priorities.
