Housing and Community Advisor Position Posting     

Salary:                        $20.00 to $25.00 per hour

Opening Date:      February 11, 2020

The Carver County Community Development Agency seeks a flexible, compassionate, strategic thinker to provide HUD Housing Counseling services through education and guidance to homeowners, homebuyers, renters and displaced populations with a variety of services.  Duties include accessing participant barriers and financial circumstances, budget development and review of credit history, creating an action plan and advocating on behalf of participants and the development of key stakeholders, such as landlords and lenders. This position is a part of our Community and Economic Development department and will also assist with programs and initiatives in that area.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Human Services or a closely related field and two (2) years’ experience in a closely related field (housing, case management) or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desirable Qualifications:

HUD housing counseling certification, case management and experience with facilitation of adult education, experience with diverse communities/low income households, Microsoft office suite, database entry/input experience, Spanish or Somali language skills a plus.

 Office Administrator I Position Posting      

Salary:                        $20.00 to $25.00 per hour

Job Posting:             General Duties:

The Carver County Community Development Agency seeks a flexible, hardworking individual to provide receptionist duties and administrative support to the CDA staff. This position is critical to our success in our mission of providing affordable housing and economic development to the cities in Carver County. Additional duties include greeting clients and customers and phone coverage. In addition, the maintenance of several data bases, composing and formatting letters, newsletters preparation, filing, assist in the preparation of adult education seminars, management of office equipment and office supplies.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma (or GED) and two to three years of administrative experience with excellent Microsoft Office, Adobe, and additional software application experience. 

Desirable Qualifications:

Strong keyboarding skills, project coordination skills, good time management skills, detail oriented, strong customer service skills and the ability to respond to the public in a professional courteous manner and maintain client confidentiality and data privacy laws.
